We purchased a home right before the holidays and discovered that the floors needed to be refinished because they were badly scratched up by the previous owners and also faded in some areas because of rugs and then further damaged during their move out process.
We hired a contractor to refinish the floors and they not only did an awful job- but they left deep river like ripples/ waves in our hard wood floors because of their technique (or lack thereof) and inadequate equipment. Even after an attempt to fix the issue- they made it even worse and the waves were more pronounced. We were livid!
We decided to cut our losses after the "contractor" stopped returning our calls and did some more research so that we could find a new company to get the job DONE RIGHT! Google Reviews to the rescue! That's when we discovered Oakmont Flooring and were blessed beyond measure to be connected with our Angel: NATHAN!
He was professional, caring, concerned, consistent, detail oriented, dependable, honest and thorough during every phase of this entire refinishing/ restoration takeover project! From beginning to end we had peace with him and the way he conducted business. If he said that he would be there at 7:19, he was pulling up at 7:19. When he said he would guarantee our satisfaction and could get the waves out of our floor... that's exactly what he did.
He actually redid the floors 2x in an attempt to get the waves out and thennnnn brought in a Certified Wood Flooring Inspector to find out EXACTLY what needed to be done to get our floors taken care of. The next day his crew was back with new instructons from the expert and just like magic, our floors turned out beautifully and we are extremely happy, thankful and appreciative every time we walk in the house and see the gorgeous results!
Since we were in the process of moving, Nathan also sent in a post job completion cleaning crew to make sure there was no dust or left over "clean up needs" from the job for us to worry about.
Thanks to Nathan at Oakmont Flooring, we were relieved of all the stress we had previously been under with crooked, sloppy, unreliable and unskilled "contractors" we kept encountering here in Atlanta.
He was simply amazing... And not only will we continue to recommend him to friends, family and Real Estate clients that we have; We will personally be using him again when we decide to replace the Flooring that is in our finished basement!
I would give this company 10 STARS if I could- and I'm a tough cookie who is pretty hard to impress :)

The previous flooring was installed by a different company and they failed to level the floors first and failed to properly gap the boards to accommodate expansion and contraction. After just a month, the floor was shredding and I couldn't get the contractor to fix them. Nathan, understood what our problem was and explained how it needed to be fixed. Once the contract was signed, he was on the job on Monday and done by Saturday. We did have some miscommunication during the process, but everything seems to have worked out fine. I now have intact and level floors and the material they're made from seems to be better.
